One entry on /releases, dated 2026-09-22, tagged iPhone 0.29.0 and Relay. Ten changes and five operator notes, written from the commit range rather than from memory.

Scoped to what is actually in the build. 0.29.0 is 9f87f1a9 and CURRENT_PROJECT_VERSION has not moved off 29 since, so the nine commits after it, the off-the-record fixes and the account-service half of a delete, are not in the binary under review. They are left out and belong to whatever ships next.

Leading on the three a person would notice:

  • A lost or stolen iPhone can be erased from another device. Both halves existed and neither was connected to anything.
  • Screenshot notices are shown to the person they are about. This app has been sending them since the feature landed and the receiving half put them in a list nothing read, so one phone said it and the other showed nothing. Worse than not having it: somebody who knows the app has it would reasonably conclude nobody had screenshotted them.
  • A new phone is admitted to a full account instead of refused. That refusal was invisible by construction: no mailbox, so nothing queues and nothing rings, and the account looks signed in and never receives.

Also in: the block-list fetch failure that let the app add a blocked person back, refused envelopes held rather than destroyed when a contact reinstalls, and the iPad width fix for stories and conversations.

Operator notes cover FN_EMAIL_VERIFICATION_REQUIRED locking Android users out, CONFIGURATION.md now being checked in CI, the two API.md federation routes this relay does not serve, the autovacuum dialect guard, and the self-hosting smoke that had been unable to run since 2026-09-04.

Two judgement calls for you. 0.29.0 is listed as released while it is still in review; easy to hold the iPhone tag until Apple approves if you would rather. And the iPad width fix is in this release, which is quietly relevant given the review device.

releases.leaf reads this JSON and is not a generated page, so no rebuild goes with it. Release notes suite passes, 12 tests, including the one that parses the shipped file. Diff is 62 insertions and 0 deletions, a pure prepend with no reformatting.
