Merge main (!161, the vault hotfix) into release/0.32.0

!161 carried this branch's two vault fixes to main, with the account-switch
test written against main's Vault (group names in place of the client
records 0.32 adds). Both added that test file; this keeps the 0.32 version,
which also checks the handle certificate record. Every other file merged
cleanly: the fixes are the same lines on both sides.
